There are causes that stop you in your tracks. Operation Smile is one of them. I am absolutely delighted to be here at the EMEA Colorectal Expert Summit in Valencia, hosted by the Johnson & Johnson Institute — an extraordinary gathering of medical minds from across the region. And it feels deeply meaningful to use this moment, and this platform, to contribute to something that goes beyond our specialty: raising awareness for @OperationSmile. Every 3 minutes, somewhere in the world, a child is born with a cleft lip or palate. For these children and their families, the daily reality is heartbreaking — struggling to eat, to speak, to laugh without pain or self-consciousness.
